Alva D. Nevills, 66, of Pasco, Washington passed away February 9, 2002, at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick.

He was born to George and Berda Nevills on September 25, 1935, in Alamosa, Colorado.

Alva, an entrepreneur who invented and held a patent on a drill bit, owned a construction and excavating business until his retirement.

He enjoyed all kinds of adventures and raced cars in his younger days. He liked spending time with his sons and supported them in baseball and other cctivities during their youth. He also enjoyed computers, hunting, fishing, boating and other outdoor activities.

Alva is survived by three sons and their families, Mark Nevills of Kennewick, Trent Nevills and wife, Julie, of Sarasota, FL, and Clint Nevills, wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Taylor, of Kennewick. He is also survived by step-daughter, Shaunde Rose and step-granddaughter, Shayla, of Kennewick; brother, George A. Nevills and wife, Margaret, of Montesano, WA; sister, Reinetta Storm of White Salmon, WA and brother, Roy E. Nevills of Richland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Earnest Nevills.

Visitation will be at Einan’s Funeral Home on Tuesday February 12, 2002, from 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:00p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
