Stanley Ewing ~ Class of 1950


HAMPTON - Stanley Edward Ewing, Lt. Col. (USAF, ret),
70, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2002. A native
of Tonopah, Nev., he had been a Hampton resident for
the past 27 years. Stanley retired from the US Air
Force in 1980 with 26 years of service.
After his Air Force career, Stanley was a Defense
Contractor for the Federal Government. Stanley was an
avid computer guru. He was a member of Hampton Baptist
Church where he served as deacon, Sunday School
director and teacher. Stanley will be remembered for
the active role he took in local missions of the
church and community.
Mr. Ewing is survived by his wife of 40 years,
Raynelle True Ewing; his daughter, Heather Ewing Klose
and her husband, Brian, of Hampton; his sons, Jon G.
Ewing of Hampton and J. Todd Ewing and his wife,
Tammy; and grandsons, Paul and Ryan of Newport News;
and a sister, Jean of Richland, Washington State.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday,
November 6, in Hampton Baptist Church, with Rev. Jay
Russ and Rev. Dr. William Tuck officiating. Interment
will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park with full
military honors. The family will receive friends 6:30
to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials take the form of
contributions to Hampton Baptist Church, 40 Kings Way,
Hampton, 23669. Arrangements are in the care of
Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue,
Hampton.
